How Our Concepts Accelerate Product Development

At Kickstart Design, we like to take concepts one step further. Our 3D-focused process allows for a more in-depth evaluation of aesthetics, materials, feasibility, and function. Paired with our designers’ experience in manufacturing and knowledge of various production methods, we ensure a smooth transition into the design and prototyping stages of development.

Research and Concept Generation Process

Our process for conceptualizing a project begins by understanding the context of your product. This includes the problem you’re trying to solve, the market you’re trying to reach, and your vision of the final product. To do this, we ask that you provide as much information as possible (e.g. product descriptions, key features, constraints, sketches, visual inspirations, etc…) This is very much a collaborative process as we frequently offer suggestions or technical knowledge, to fill in any gaps.

Once we have enough information to understand the project and its goals fully, we will generate a project scope statement. The project scope statement is a document that outlines the phases, milestones, technical requirements, assumptions, exclusions, constraints, and risks associated with a project.

With the project now well defined, we can begin generating 3D concepts. Typically, we will provide you with three initial concepts. Each one features unique aesthetic and functional elements. These elements are intended to be mixed/matched and then combined into the final concept. The initial concepts, as well as the final concept, are accompanied by a design review document that highlights each unique feature and explains them in further detail.

Product Rendering and Illustrations

If you're looking to visualize your product better or create eye-catching promotional materials, our designers can help you generate beautiful 3D product renderings. These are commonly used by our clients to kick off crowdfunding projects. These renders are both engaging and informative, giving potential backers a visualization of the aesthetic and functional goals of your project.
